The authorities of the city of Leicester (in the UK) decided to tighten the quarantine, which was introduced earlier to combat coronavirus infection, as the number of infected in this area continues to grow.
This decision was made against the backdrop of the fact that further throughout the UK, the COVID-19 epidemic is in decline.
According to representatives of the Public Health Administration, over 900 cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Leicester over the past 2 weeks. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, almost 3,000 cases were detected in the city.
Note that earlier in June in the same Leicester, 5 schools were closed due to another outbreak of the virus.
