The Polish Cultural Center in Kaliningrad said that the authorities of several cities in Poland have decided to cancel the massive New Year celebrations due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thus, the statement refers to the following cities: Warsaw, Poznan, Czestochowa, Gdansk, Gdynia and some others.
According to the country's leadership, holding cultural events is the main source of the spread of COVID-19 and requires huge financial costs. It should be noted that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Polish economy suffered serious losses.
Based on statistical data, as of 10/21/2020, a total of 192,539 cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in Poland since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,721 people have died.
