Egypt will not celebrate New Year due to COVID-19 pandemic

Egyptian authorities have decided to cancel all New Year's events for tourists in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

This statement was made on 12/21/2020 by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt, who argued the imposed ban with a desire to avoid crowds of people amid the COVID-19 pandemic raging around the world.

It should be noted that not only New Year's parties were banned, but also weddings and other festivities, which involve gathering a large number of people indoors, including in cafes and restaurants, nightclubs, and hotels. For violation of the established rules, a fine is threatened.
